15th December, 2020
As part of its commitment to
environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) principles, white label
ETF issuer, HANetf, has become a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).
The PRI is the world’s leading
proponent of responsible investment. Becoming a signatory demonstrates HANetf’s
long-standing commitment to sustainability.
Nik Bienkowski, Co-CEO of
HANetf commented “HANetf is delighted to affirm its commitment to
responsible and sustainable investing. In early December, together with iClima Earth, we launched our first ESG
exchange traded fund (ETF) the
iClima Global Decarbonisation Enablers UCITS ETF, which is the first climate change ETF in the world to provide exposure to
companies offering products and services that enable CO2e avoidance solutions
and to quantify that impact[1].
“We are putting responsible
investing at the heart of our new product strategy to contribute towards a more
sustainable economy and investment products.
We are currently in the process of collaborating with other partners to
launch new ESG products to European Investors in early 2021.”
When you trade ETFs your capital
is at risk.
“ETFs have been growing in
popularity as a way to deploy ESG-based investment strategies,” said PRI
CEO Fiona Reynolds, “so we welcome HANetf taking the decision to join
the PRI, and the positive message that this sends to other ETF providers. We look forward to working with them in the
coming months.”
Committing to six principles
The goal of the PRI is to
understand the implications of sustainability for investors and support
signatories to incorporate these issues into their decision-making and
ownership practices.
The PRI acts in the long-term
interests of its signatories, the financial markets, and economies in which
they operate, and ultimately the environment and society. HANetf has committed
to the following in becoming a PRI signatory:
- incorporating ESG issues into investment
analysis and decision-making processes
- being an active owner and incorporating ESG
issues into ownership policies and practices
- seeking appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by
the entities in which we invest
- promoting acceptance and implementation of the
Principles within the investment industry
- working with the PRI Secretariat and other
signatories to enhance their effectiveness in implementing the Principles
- reporting on our activities and progress towards
implementing the Principles
